About

This is the site to keep everyone posted on the Crack House.

Before you ask, yes it was a crack house.

Now it's a project.

A friend sent us the MLS listing because she thought it was funny.

In the details, well, there actually were no details, but it did mention "Alleged Crack House".  We thought it was funny too.

Then we bought it.

Possession date was October 3rd, 2006.  Within a few hours we had christened the house with wine, cheese, take-out Indian food and a few good friends.

Read the on-going saga of destruction and construction.

Just in case you wondered

Not much has changed in the 'walls' department yet...here is our lovely bedroom at the back of the house!

And the view from bed...then into the bathroom, beyond that the hall and yes, yes...you can see all the way through to the master bedroom where there is a dresser.  Indeed, at the opposite end of the house from our bedroom!

Insulating the Master

Sunday 13 January 2008 at 9:55 pm

Here are some pics of the master bedroom being insulated. (remember we are actually currently sleeping in the back bedroom, so this room was being used as a storage area). Poor Lewis had to work around all our boxes of 'stuff' but he managed well!

Here is the future location of the master closets (very scientific 'masking tape method'!)

We now have help

Wednesday 02 January 2008 at 12:00 am

At long last the project is moving along during weekdays. My sister's friend Lewis is a carpenter and he's been kind enough to come help us out.

He stays with us Monday noon to Friday noon, and when we go out and come back home, stuff is magically done!

As a result many thing have occurred at the crackhouse since he arrived at the beginning of January 2008.

Here he is as John Travolta the Insulation Installer!

Other items include the basement shower floor levelling, shower installation including water hookups, basement back wall insulation and most recently back door installation. (photos likely to come).
